Mosey along Elora’s Mill Street through Elora’s historic downtown. The shops along West Mill Street range from a French creperie through to an upscale jewellery store. Meander across Bradley Bridge. Take advantage of the photo opportunities from this scenic bridge in Elora.
Head over to the newly renovated Elora Mill and Spa for a bite to eat. Spoiler alert: menu items are on the pricey side.
Treat yourself to a specialty coffee and some of the most delectable pastries on the planet! Visit The Tartlet on the lower patio of The Badley (corner of Metcalfe and Mill Street). You’ll be warmly welcomed by the lovely barista, Liv, who proudly serves the incredible creations of Chef Marc Collyer. Light lunch and “world-class Afternoon Tea” is served in their flagship location at The Wild Tart, 61 Metcalfe Street. Signature cocktails are their specialty! Elora at its finest.
If a picnic is more up your alley, grab some picnic fixings at the Geddes Street Market at 165 Geddes Street. Walk up the hill along Metcalfe Street to Geddes Street. Side note: they have lots of vegetarian and vegan options.
Head east on Mill Street to picnic in Bissell Park – along the Grand River. Bissell Park is the site of the Elora Farmers’ Market on Saturdays from 9AM to 1PM.
Backtrack to Metcalfe Street and window shop in the unique shops and galleries that line the street and the off-shoot streets.
The Wiener Dog Races (yes, it’s a thing) at The Grand River Raceway are one of their signature events and fun family entertainment for Belwood Lake cottagers. Horse racing, on-site casino, plus dining and shopping options offer cottagers at Belwood Lake plenty of fun and entertainment.
Head to the Elora Gorge at the western edge of Elora for grand views, camping, canoeing, cycling, fishing, hiking, picnicking, swimming, and tubing.
You can’t make a wrong turn in Elora. There is always something delightful to see, experience, or buy.
