Lake Belwood is in the township of East Garafraxa in Dufferin County and the township of Centre Wellington in Wellington County, Ontario. Additionally, County Road 19 borders the west side of the lake, and County Road 18 borders the east side.
The charming town of Fergus is just 10 minutes southwest of Belwood Lake. Fergus is renowned for its many festivals. The quaint village of Belwood, famous for its butter tarts, is on the north shore of the lake.
Lake Belwood is close to several other towns. It is just 15 minutes to Elora, 20 minutes to Guelph, 25 minutes to Orangeville, 30 to 40 minutes to Kitchener-Waterloo, and within an hour to the GTA.
